Dual Enrollment

探花约炮 Dual Enrollment Program

The Dual Enrollment Program at 探花约炮 allows high school students to simultaneously enrolled in college courses, earning both high school and college credits. This program provides motivated students with the opportunity to get a head start on their college education by experiencing rigorous coursework in a collegiate environment.

探花约炮 allows students to earn both high school and college credit in select courses (this is commonly referred to as 鈥渄ual enrollment鈥� or 鈥渆arly college start鈥�). 探花约炮 offers two types of dual enrollment:

Dual Enrollment through partnerships with local school district
Independent Dual Enrollment for students wanting to pursue college courses on their own

Currently, students are only able to participate in dual enrollment opportunities through workforce training grants or private family contribution. TCS knows the value of beginning college while in high school and through ELEVATE, this can be a reality for all students. In 2020-2021, ELEVATE funds will be used to provide every student with up to six credit hours of college-level work while in high school. For the 2021-2022 cycle and beyond, eligible students may earn up to nine credit hours of college-level work while in high school.

To qualify, students must:
(2021-2022 cohort and beyond)

Attend a TCS high school at least one year prior to taking courses as part of the ELEVATE Dual Enrollment Scholarship program.

Live in the Tuscaloosa City Schools鈥� residential attendance zones (or be dependant of a TCS employee).

Meet institutions鈥� minimum grade point average requirements.

Independent Dual Enrollment

Interested high school students may apply for spring, fall, or summer classes through 探花约炮鈥檚 independent Dual Enrollment Program. Dual enrollment provides opportunities for students to earn college credit while still in high school and decreases the time a student spends in college. In addition to saving time, the affordable cost of dual enrollment saves money for students and their families.
